Privacy Policy

Last updated July 28, 2026.

When'd It ("the service") is operated by Barney Boisvert. This policy explains what information the service collects, why, and how it's used.

Information collected

When signing in with Google, the service receives your email address, name, and profile picture from your Google account. If the email matches an existing account it's linked automatically; otherwise a new, private account is created.

Beyond that, the service only stores what's entered directly: log entries and their timestamps, tags, notes, locations, and files attached to them.

How information is used

Account and profile information is used to sign in, identify an account, and personalize the interface. Log entries and related content are used solely to provide the logging, search, and reporting features of the service.

Information is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising or marketing. It's shared only with the infrastructure providers that host the service, and only as needed to operate it.

Cookies

A single session cookie is used to keep an account signed in after completing Google sign-in. It contains no information beyond what's needed to identify the session, and isn't used for tracking or advertising.

Data retention and deletion

Account and log data is retained as long as the account exists. To request deletion of an account and its data, email the address below.

Children's privacy

The service isn't directed at, or knowingly used by, children under 13.
